I did not finish the album ‘within a month’ of the last post… Not even close!
I have a few excuses, some better than others. Mainly, I lost a couple of weeks when my ears kind of stopped working. But I went to the doctor and he fixed them so that’s all good. Then I went to Guildford to help build a raised bed in my Aunt’s garden so she can grow vegetables. So, yeah.
From there I went over to Paul’s for a few days and we made some headway on the album artwork. We actually have a really nice design for this album and a spare for future use! I forgot my usb stick so I can’t show it to you yet, but this will be the first place it goes online, promise!
Now I’m back home in Derby and the kitchen is an absolute state. It’s being redecorated, which makes recording slightly difficult – competing with hammering, sawing and loud profanity (Dad’s going for the DIY option). But I should be able to start recording the last few songs next week. I’ve got enough written to complete the album now I think, so it’s just a matter of getting them down. I’m actually really pleased with the new songs, having spent a few weeks listening to the nine tracks I had, I think they’re just what the album needs. Looking forward to getting it finished and out into the world!
Think I might try to put together a video for the song ‘Alaska’ while I’m waiting for peace to return to the house. The John Green link should be a good way to get a few more people listening. The annoying thing is I’ve already made this video but it was lost when my old computer died. Ah well, c’est la vie.
