Home

Welcome to my website! If you’ve come here looking for an answer to the age old question, ‘why is the sky blue?’ I’m afraid you have taken a wrong turn during your journey through the Interwebs. However, to save you further Googling, I can tell you that it’s due to Rayleigh scattering.
So, my name is Dave, I make music, and that’s what this website is all about.

I should probably use this space to let you know how to navigate this website, but I think it’s fairly self explanatory. Directing your eyes to the top of the page you will find some tabs. Click on the one that says ‘music’ to listen to my music, ‘News’ for news, ‘Lyrics/Tabs’ for lyrics and guitar tabs… I won’t go through all of them.

On the right are links to other places you can find me online. So if you use twitter or facebook or youtube and would like to follow me on those things , then you can. (I do recommend it as I am hilarious).

Finally, if you’re interested in hearing from me every month or two (or six), then you should sign up to my mailing list.

So have a look around and make yourself at home! I’ll be around, should you wish to I’m sure you can figure out a way to get in touch, there are loads.

xx

  1. When you find yourself sitting like a statue and looking out of a window..listening to some music that you’ve just found on the internet and thinking: “….wow, how long have I been listening to this?..” That’s when I say to myself – He’s got a talent. Probably many people are saying you the same thing but I just want to be another one because your music is worth it! Please, keep on creating, you got a fan in slovakia.

  2. I really really really need the tab to your cover of These Days for my GCSEs! I want to do it but I dunno how. HELP DAVE

  3. Hey Dave.
I’ve been listening to your stuff for quite a while now,and I like them a lot.
As a guitarist(not that good you see…),I often wonder how you figure out the inside workings and stuff of songs. How?
    I don’t think you use tabs,do you?
Like that Kooks song, matchbox, none of the chord qualities are obvious. And in all the covers, you usually play all the elements of the song. How do you figure out what to play?
I don’t think it can be “done by ear”,when there are so many things happening in a studio recorded song.So how do do it?Music theory? What exactly in music theory?
I would like to know how you got professional at transcribing,I mean, what were your general habits?
I would be glad if you help me out here.
    Thanks.
    God Bless,be good.
And you should write more songs like when i see you again and alone again.

    • Usually I’ll look up the basic chords, which could be done by ear – it just saves time to look them up, then I’ll play it a few times myself and eventually I’ll fall into a way of playing it which feels natural to me. I don’t tend to follow tabs because they tell you what to do a little too precisely, which I don’t enjoy, and I don’t really use music theory because I don’t know any music theory.

I guess the important thing is I don’t worry too much about it being just how the original is. The covers I upload are always songs that I’ve just been playing for fun, and that’s an important part of the process – when a song is stuck in my head I’ll play it over and over starting out with a basic version and gradually falling into the sort of thing I would upload to youtube.

Hope that helps, it’s a difficult thing to explain!

  4. You’re music is great to fall asleep to, not that it’s boring. :l I mean it clears my mind which is always a good thing to do before falling asleep so… I don’t know if you’ll take that as a compliment but it’s meant to be one.

  5. Hey, i was looking for conor oberst solo stuff on youtube, and came a cross your cover of one of my kind. I love your stuff man. You got a fan in Moscow, Russia. Imagine that :)

Hello. I love the picture above, of you with your arms outstretched. I am currently working on a collage and I wonder if I can use this image? The picture would be made very small and superimposed on a mountain. My plan is to perfect this image, frame it, and sell the framed pictures to members of an organization to which my son belongs. I would be happy to add an attribution to your website.

Please let me know if this is OK with you.

    Thank you very much.
